White House Conference on Aging Webinar

AAACN wanted to let you know of the opportunity to participate in an upcoming national webinar presented as part of the 2015 White House Conference on Aging that will specifically address the growing issue of malnutrition in older adults.

The webinar will be held on January 29 from 2 PM to 3:30 PM EST. There is no charge.

Co-hosted by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the National Association of Nutrition and Aging Services Programs with support from Abbott, the national webinar will be led by Nora Super, the Executive Director for the White House Conference on Aging, and will feature three leading experts in nutrition and aging issues.

Also of note, there is a CE involved for participating nurses and registered dietitian nutritionists.

Topics for the webinar include:

  • The importance of nutrition programs for older adults and the need for innovation and expansion with an emphasis on the Older Americans Act
  • The significance of nutrition in chronic disease and as a key indicator of older adult health and opportunities for advancing the value of registered dietitian nutritionists in partnership with other healthcare professionals, for health promotion and disease prevention among older adults
  • The growing issue of malnutrition in older adults, local quality improvement solutions to advance their health by integrating malnutrition screening and intervention in healthcare delivery systems, and the use of malnutrition quality measures in public and private accountability programs.
