The American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN) Signs on to CMS Request for Feedback on Scope of Practice
AAACN signed on to the Nursing Community Coalition’s (NCC) response to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) request for feedback on removing outdated Scope of Practice barriers. Revision of Medicare regulations, as well as enabling APRNs to practice at the top of their licensure, is crucial to providing access to high-quality, cost-efficient healthcare.
AAACN Supports Increases to Nursing Workforce and Research in FY 2020
AAACN Supports NCC's request for at least $259.472 million, or up to $279.472 million, for existing Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs, and at least $172.417 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR, National Institutes of Health) as outlined in the Senate-proposed LHHS-ED appropriations bill in Fiscal Year 2020.
Increased investment in nursing (the country's largest healthcare workforce) is essential as the need for high-quality healthcare continues to grow.
